The 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, held during 9 – 13 April 2025, showcased nearly 1,050 submissions from 35 countries and regions of inventors, universities, institutes and companies. Among the 299 inventions from Hong Kong, 37 HKUST teams received a total 38 awards, demonstrating the University’s outstanding performance in the fields of life and health technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) and data science, advanced manufacturing, new energy technologies and aerospace engineering. Among which, the inventions led by Profs. Tim CHENG and Xiaomeng LI, faculty members of the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE), received three awards.

- C2RV: Cross-Regional and Cross-View Learning for Sparse-View CBCT Reconstruction
Silver Medal
C2RV (Cross-Regional and Cross-View Learning) is a framework for sparse-view cone-beam computed tomography. It reconstructs 3D images from fewer projections, reducing radiation exposure by over 90% and improving accuracy in medical applications.
