The 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, held during 9 – 13 April 2025, showcased nearly 1,050 submissions from 35 countries and regions of inventors, universities, institutes and companies. Among which, the inventions led by Profs. Tim CHENG and Xiaomeng LI, faculty members of the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at HKUST, received three awards. Read more

The research project titled “Frontier and Human-centric AI and Robotics Technology for Geriatric Care” was awarded and approved HK$88.481 million under the Areas of Excellence (AoE) Scheme 2024/25 of the Research Grants Council (RGC). The project focuses on improving older individuals’ mental and physical care by developing human-centric frontier artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics technology, which will empower both the elderly themselves and their carers to manage health and address frailty.
